A couple of weeks after revealing she’d had surgery for endometriosis, Chrissy Teigen has shared a self-love selfie to honour her scars.

Earlier this month, Chrissy Teigen announced she was undergoing surgery for endometriosis, on the day her son whom she lost to miscarriage was supposed to be born.

In light of the difficult month she’s faced, Teigen took to Instagram to express some much-deserved self-love on Valentine’s Day with a mirror selfie of her surgery scars–one from her endometriosis surgery and the others from her breast implants removal in July. We are here SO for it.

“Happy Valentine’s Day,” she wrote.

“Love yourself! Bitch has been throuuugh it.”

The post comes after Teigen shared an emotional post about her fertility issues and endometriosis diagnosis; an often painful chronic reproductive condition where the tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus grows outside it instead.

“My little Jack would have been born this week so I’m a bit off,” she wrote.

“I truly feel kicks in my belly, but it’s not phantom… the period feeling this month is exactly like baby kicks… I’ll pretend it’s him saying hi. It never stops.”

In a series of follow-up tweets, Teigen revealed how her post-surgery recovery was going, revealing how tough things were going to be for a while.

“My whole belly got numbed. It’s gonna be numb for like, a couple of days,” she tweeted.

“It makes it hard, every little cough and stuff. But it is truly still better than the contractions and the pain of endo.”
